Albert Pasquale

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Albert Pasquale, 93, a resident of North Smithfield for over 70 years, passed away on April 18, 2016, at the Holiday Retirement Center in Manville, with his devoted family by his side. He made his home at the Wyndemere Woods Assisted Living Facility in Woonsocket, this past year. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son to the late Francesco and Maria (Villante) Pasquale.
Albert was a Veteran of the WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force, his interest in art began. He was a member of the Providence Art Club, Rockport Art Association, Providence Watercolor Club, Rhode Island Watercolor Society, Wickford Art Association, North Shore Art Association and the Attleboro Museum. He was also the resident artist of High Winds Studio. He won many prestigious art awards throughout his career. Pieces of his art were shown in many galleries throughout the country and highly sought after by collectors both here and abroad. He was the recipient of many awards including The Providence Art Club Award, The W. Alden Brown, Clinton and Eleanor Knight Awards, The Tilda Stone Memorial Award, The Trustee's Award- Attleboro Museum and numerous "Best of Show" awards. A man of humble origin, his art reflects what we all have surrounding us in nature, but seldom take the time to see. He presented an intimate look at nature by using various art mediums such as oils, watercolors and acrylics. Mr. Pasquale was also a founding member of a spirited discussion group that holds daily meetings at the Park Square McDonalds restaurant. Most recently, Albert was honored by having several of his paintings from an exhibition of his work at The Rockport Art Association, used in the HBO mini series "Olive Kitteridge". They were chosen for their nautical qualities and were used as set decoration being dispersed throughout the main characters home. As he was viewing the movie, he remarked several times how his paintings looked very much at home in a movie.
Albert is survived by his loving daughter, Donna Legendre and her husband Emile, of North Smithfield. Grandchildren include; Kelli Corrigan of North Smithfield, Tracy Corrigan of North Providence, one great granddaughter, Sydney Moulico, of North Smithfield and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, John and Frank "Cecco" Pasquale; Josephine DesNoyers, Rose Pasquale, Virginia D'Amelio and Emelia "Millie" DeBaggis.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 22nd from 4-7 PM, in the Keene Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, RI. Burial will be held privately.
