What a positive example of Leadership this Man always showed just by his presence. He was always an Agent's Agent and always there in the difficult times as well as the good. He lifted our spirits by his mere presence, and made us be better Agents because none of us wanted to disappoint him. Thank God for such an example of leadership that we can all remember in these difficult times.

I was very fortunate to have served under Mr. Walton´ s leadership in the New York Office as a member of the Joint Terrorism Task Force. He supported agents and their cases and understood the importance of the partnerships needed to be effective in law enforcement. I learned a great deal from his leadership style. Rest In Peace " Boss"

He was a one of a kind boss and I was blessed to have worked for him.

Ken Walton was a terrific guy and a great man to work for. he cared about his Agents and madeit his business to learn about you as a person. He was incredibly kind to me just before my Dad lost his battle with leukemia as h transferred me to the old Newburgh RA and allowed me to stay there for a longer time than I expected to help stablize my Mom and brother's lives. Then, instead of sending me back to the NYO he transferred me to the NRRA to make it easier for me to live at home. It was a hard time for my family as just a few years earlier my odler brother had passed away. he waa a great man to work for and with. Set the standard for great leadership. May he rest in peace. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Ken. I worked for him in the New York Office in the early to mid 1980s. He was one of the best bosses that I ever worked with. He made it a point to take care of the Agents that worked for him. Regardless of the situation he supported the Agents doing the investigations. He talked to the Agents regularly so he always knew what was going on. He had a great sense of humor and was very devoted to the FBI. He was a legend and will be long remembered by all that knew him.

Dear Charlotte & Walton family, very sorry to hear about Ken's passing. He was a true leader and motivator. I will never forget that he gave me the chance to join the JTTF in NY and participate in several long temporary duty assignments that helped shape my Bureau career. He will never be forgotten.

Ken and I were friends from the 5th grade on. We graduated from High School 1n 1957 and he went in the Air Force AND I chose the Navy. We were discharged about the same time and both went to the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. He joined the FBI and I followed him about one year later.
We kept in touch throughout our varied assignments through retirement.

I last spoke with him at a High School class reunion several years ago and as always he was the same old Ken.

He is, and will be, missed.

Walton Family, I was lucky enough to be a clerk at FBIHQ assigned to the unit where Ken was assigned. This was before Hoover died and I remember Ken entering the unit.
Smile on his face, confidence in his step.
He knew he was on the fast track and knew
it was his leadership that Agents admired.
A real great Agent and dedicated Leader.
I worked for him again in Detroit and he was held in high esteem there as well. Very sorry to learn of this loss to the family and all of his friends. May God Bless him on his journey.

I worked for Ken and with Ken in two different offices. Any time that his name was mentioned in any crowd of FBI personnel we all had a personal story to share. He was his own person and certainly left his mark on the FBI and his acquaintances. Anyone that worked for him and put forth their full effort could always count on Ken having their back! He will be missed.

DAD Ken Walton, FBI, New York office was always there for the Agents. Another Agent and I were carrying an occupied wheel chair across rows of farm ground to allow the wheel chair occupant to go to the grave site at a funeral. Kenny Walton came running out to help us, and he would not take no for an answer--he "wanted to help in the carrying," and he did. I also remember the funeral of two NYPD Officers who had been shot by LCN made members. Kenny Walton stood with us Agents on that cold windy day as we were there with the NYPD drummer/pipes and NYPD marching formation--a cold New York morning only fit for a funeral for two brave NYPD Officers--and he was there with us again "to help with the carrying." He was an Agent's Agent, helping to carry the load--always there for us. Godspeed and God Bless. Dennis Weaver, FBI, New York, 1982-1987.

Dear Mrs. Walton,

I had the honor of serving with the FBI from 1982-1987 in the New York office when Ken was the Deputy Assistant Director. This was a very challenging time for the FBI in many ways. Under Ken's leadership, the FBI had numerous successful investigations in organized crime, bank robberies and violent crimes, and the dismantling of a number of domestic terrorist organizations. Ken was instrumental in forming the nation's first joint law enforcement task forces. He personally developed credibility with the NYPD and invited senior detectives to work in FBI space for a common goal of making New York safer.

For those who were fortunate to serve under his leadership, he will be remembered for his many accomplishments and service to our nation. He cared deeply about his employees and the mission.

Respectfully,

Dave Mitchell (Special Agent, Retired)

Mrs. Walton,

I had the honor serving as an Agent in New York Office under Ken's leadership from 1982-1987. These were challenging times for the FBI in many ways. During Ken's tenure in New York a bond was established with the NYPD and multiple Task Forces were formed which established the "Task Force" concept for FBI field offices across the country. Major successes in Organized Crime, Bank Robberies, Violent Crimes and the dismantling of Domestic Terrorism Organizations occurred during Ken's tenure. Ken was directly responsible for building the partnerships with NYPD and many other agencies. He improved the sharing of information/intelligence and establishing relationships with the NYPD leadership.
He also was one of the greatest leaders I had the opportunity to serve with.
Many of us who worked during that time still remain in contact." Mr. Walton's " legacy and service to the FBI and our Nation will not be forgotten.

Respectfully,Dave Mitchell

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Walton when I was assigned to the FBI office in Chicago in the eighties when he was the Chief Inspector during our division's inspection. He was an extraordinary man, and as I have heard from several colleagues who served under him in New York, an effective, kind, and generous leader. May he rest in peace.

Ken Walton was an old school guy from a small town who became a legend in the Bureau. He was larger than life and I remember him walking the halls of the NYO with his Black Tux and tails and top hat and black cape with red underlining, He was the Prince of NY City! He took care of the Agents who carried the Ball. Dr. George W. Walker, Sr.
