For Sarah and Alyson, I know that this Christmas will be a hard one for you and the immediate families who are missing Josh so very much--my prayers go out to you for strength and faith that you will all meet up again. I've known both Sarah and Josh since they were little children and watched them become beautiful parents, I hope that your Christmas will be peaceful and full of love and joy.

My beautiful daughter, Kindra, wrote: You can wish and pray but at the end of the day, "until we meet again," is all you can say.
Until we meet again, Josh, my wonderful, enthusiastic, kind, respected and very much missed son-in-law. I love you with all my heart.

Josh, I know we didn't get to spend a lot of time together when you came back to Alaska. We had a lot of fun when you and Sarah came to denali with us. I have so many fond memories of you growing up. You became an amazing man, a wonderful husband, and a great father. I miss you so much, but I know I'll see you again one day in heaven. I love you Josh. Your auntie Ondrea

Josh was one of the best divers I have ever met . He was the only man I've ever truly trusted as my standby. I always used to think that I taught Josh a lot being his mentor ....But I soon learned that he taught me more about going for what your heart wants and to follow through with what you believe .
I'm going to miss you a lot friend.

To the Pool family:
We were neighbors of Josh and Sarah when they lived in LA. We are so saddened to hear this news. You guys were the best neighbors and we miss you. Josh was always there to lend a helping hand when my husband was working and I couldn't thank him enough for rescuing me from the law mower...multiple times. :)
Sarah, we wish you the best, my dear. My heart hurts for you and the girls. Many prayers of strength sent your way. Take care of yourself and those beautiful girls.

To the family, friends, and "Families of the Heart' of Josh Pool. We did not know Josh, but we know his nature and personality through reading the Obituary and Comments. Josh was a true Alaskan- spirited, adventuresome, talented, charismatic, loving young man. I know the type -
our only son Aaron fit right in that niche. He died doing what he loved and was caught in the huge avalanche at Turnagain Pass in 1999. His body wasn't found for 2 months; thank God Josh was found soon after the accident. Aaron was 29, and had been married 7 months. No children, thus no grand children to love and hug and console us. Our sincere heartfelt understanding and condolences go out to you all. At times like this, we cry "why" and "it's not fair". It isn't fair, and there are no answers to why. Our son's death led to the beginning of a huge avalanche awareness movement: thus something good came out of a sorrowful event. It sounds as if Josh knew exactly what he was doing, and he was a professional. But even if there's one little lesson in this unfortunate accident for someone, that is a good thing. If nothing else, a lesson is people should love each other to the fullest every day because you never know when someone can be gone instantly Our sincere heart felt condolences and comfort go to you all. Remember the good times, and look at the 28 years of joy you had with this wonderful young man. MAY GOD AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT HELP YOU THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME. ps We see where another son passed on. To JOSH'S parents - . We have lost 2 children also. If anyone ever needs an understanding soul to talk to, we are in the Palmer phone book

RIP Josh u were like a big brother a big part of my childhood. Hunting tarmigen hens catching minnows n tadpoles for our "petshop" and building some really cool forts. Four wheeling dirtbikes and snowmen. My heart hurts for the family and I do wish I could make it to the
service I'm just too far away. You will be missed by many many and certainly never forgotten.
