Lenore Pool Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edgerton Burial Association and Colonial Funeral Chapel on Feb. 23, 2026.
Lenore (Norie) Catherine (Vos) Pool, Norie was born to Cecelia Florine (Heidgerken) and John Peter Vos on June 10, 1926 in Edgerton, MN. She was the second born of five children and raised in Edgerton, MN.

She married Marion (Mutt) Pool on December 17, 1945. They lived in Edgerton, then Pickstown, SD and returned in the early 1950s to make their home in Edgerton. Mutt passed on February 27, 1997.

She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edgerton. Norie and Mutt were blessed with two children,. Norie worked at the Leader Café and was one of the first employees hired at Fey Industries where she worked until retirement. After retiring she cared for her parents and sister Doris Vos. Norie was a fun loving gal. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially travel in their motor home. She and Mutt enjoyed the mountains and had many trips out west with Sandi, Don, Missy and Heather joining them. They also traveled to Texas where they enjoyed time with her brother and his wife, Nick and Jennie Vos. They also enjoyed northern Minnesota and the state parks in the area, often having grandkids, Tracy and Kristin Fey join them. Norie also enjoyed reading, bowling, embroidering, crochet and knitting. Norie loved playing wahoo with her friends and family and was quite the competitor. She was very out-going, full of spunk and wit. Thankfully, she kept those qualities until the end and was well loved by the staff at Edgebrook Care Center where she spent her last years.

After the death of Mutt, she traveled to Hawaii, Arizona and Florida with Sandi and Don and later Sandi and Jim. She walked the beaches endlessly and so enjoyed finding shells and seeing the dolphins, manatees and other wildlife native to the area. Norie was blessed with a special friend late in life, Alvin Gilman. They enjoyed spending time together – dinners out, travel and simple conversation.

She is survived by daughters Pat (Reg) Fey of Edgerton and Sandi (Jim) Hensley, Sioux Falls, formerly Luverne. Grandchildren, Tracy Fey, Edgerton, Kristin (Doug) Kroh, Edgerton, Missy (Evan) Verbrugge, Luverne, Heather (Greg) Feltman, Sioux Falls, SD, Natasha (Tony) Weis, Mankato, sister-in-law, Ardy Vos, Coon Rapids, MN and many nieces and nephews and their families. Her great grandchildren include Tyler (Megan) Kroh, Aurora, SD, Riley (Kaylee) Verbrugge, Jackson, MN, Kameron (Garrett Kreb) Kroh, Rochester, MN, Savannah (Carter) Poe, Columbus, OH, Kyle (Ashly) Feltman, Sioux Falls, SD, Madeline Poe, Prospect, OR, Emma Verbrugge, Lincoln, NE, Cody (Jena) Feltman, Sioux Falls, SD, Drew (Makala) Weis, Andover, MN, Alex (Kenzie) Weis, Austin, MN Making up five generations were great great-grandchildren Bridger and Berkley Kroh, Elliana and Grayson Weis, Rowan and Emerson.

Norie was preceded in death by her husband Marion (Mutt), her parents and siblings, Nick Vos, Eileen Childs, Doris Vos and George Vos, son-in-law, Don Vrtacnik, and special friend, Alvin Gilman.
