Our sincere sympathy to the families of Lee Jordan. I had the privilege of being with Lee as an assistant coach in the Knik Little League and the Babe Ruth team I believe from 1967-1969. We travelled to Montana and Idaho for various Baseball tournaments. He was a joy to be with and I especially enjoyed his coaching enthusiasm. Even though we left Alaska in 1981 we will always have fond thoughts of our time with Lee. He will be sorely missed.

Lee Jordan hired me as a reporter for the Chugiak-Eagle River Star on my second day in Alaska in 1980. During the following months I learned how much work goes into publishing a small town weekly paper and how much respect the editor and publisher of the Star commanded in that town. Lee was the real Star in the community: his radient smile greeted everyone who walked into the office. He knew everyone, even if they didnt all know him. Lee was a businessman with a big heart and a way with humor that always leaked into his stories. Chugiak-Eagle River was fortunate to have one of the best of the best for more than fifty years. My deepest sympathies to Barbara and the family. Thanks for taking a chance on a young, green journalist, Lee. I hope you find many stories to write in Heaven.
