Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chateaugay Funeral Home on Mar. 16, 2026.
Pamela M. Fountain, 73, formerly of Malone, New York passed away peacefully at home in Eagle River, Alaska on March 12, 2026.

Pam was the daughter of Wayne and Shirley (Snyder) Fleury of Westville, New York. She was born September 20, 1952 in Malone, New York.

She is survived by her son, Robert Fountain and his wife Michelle; her daughter Deanna Fountain and her husband Christian Ware; her mother, Shirley Fleury Reid; a chosen brother, Francis Clark; and two nieces, Stephanie Mayville and Kayley LaMay. She has one granddaughter, Lauren Fountain, and a great-granddaughter, Lennox.

Pam attended Salmon River School, graduating in 1970. Upon graduation, Pam married David Fountain in July 1970 in Munich, Germany, where her son, "Bob" was born. After returning to Malone in 1974, Pam attended North Country Community College earning a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She would later return to obtain a Registered Nursing license.

In the over 30 years of Pam's nursing career, she worked at William Manson and Alice Hyde Nursing homes, Public Health, as well as Bare Hill and Franklin Correctional Institutions. She is remembered by co-workers and those who were close to her as a hard worker who loved people.

In 2017, she moved to Alaska to be cared for by her daughter and son-in-law while she lived her remaining years with end stage renal disease.

Pam enjoyed going to the Constable Adult Center for lunch with friends and games of "food" bingo with her mom. She truly enjoyed lunch and shopping with her best friend, Bonnie. In her later years, she enjoyed a handful of road trips along the "Alcan" highway, visiting sites across the United States and Canada. Including a 17 day, 7,000 mile adventure with stops in Sequoia, Yellowstone, and Banff National Parks capped with a night on the Vegas strip with her daughter and son-in-law.

Pam will be laid to rest at St. Francis Cemetery with her late husband, David.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Fleury in 1991, her husband, David Fountain in 1994, two sisters, Diane Fleury in 1974 and Donna LaMay in 2017, her step-father, Gerald Reid, her mother and father-in-law, Sally and Richard Fountain, her grandparents, Clarence and Phoebe Fleury and Francis and Florence Snyder, and her brothers-in-law, Richard Fountain Jr. and Donald Fountain.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you take a loved one out for dessert.

Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Friday, March 20 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
