Peter Heppe Obituary
A celebration of life gathering will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel: 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK 99501.
Peter was born on Nov. 21, 1946, in Scottsbluff, Neb. He served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. For his service in the military, Peter received a Bronze Star. Peter received his bachelors degree and worked as a pilot for many years. He worked for UPS, Atlas Air and Mark Air. Peter first moved to Alaska in 1977. He lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, until 1985, when he moved to Anchorage. Peter loved Alaskan wildlife, photography and especially flying.
Family states: "Peter was a loving father and husband. His love was to hike, fly airplanes, take photos, fish and have a good time with friends and relatives. Peter was easygoing and was always there to help his friends and family."
Peter is survived by his wife, Jesica Heppe; daughter, Jolene Heppe; and son, Michael Angelo Espiritu; along with three brothers; one sister; three nephews; three nieces; and one great-nephew.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

Pete was my flight instructor in Fairbanks in the early 80's. A great teacher and professional in every regard. Sorry to read about his passing. As been said often, passed way before his time.

I was Peter's Copilot, Flying a Boeing 747-200 for Atlas Air, along with Flight Engineer Gary Deel, from Mumbai to Karachi to Frankfurt, May 25/26 1998. Both Gary and I were sick from our meal in the hotel in Mumbai. Pete was essentially flying the 747 Solo, but he was truly capable.
Rest In Peace, Gary. Sorry to learn you are gone too young.
