Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez Obituary

Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez

Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez, 67, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2021 in Tularosa, NM. She was born on March 1, 1953 in Alamogordo, NM to Sylvester and Mary Gonzales. A 1972 graduate of Alamogordo High School, Dianna then moved to Santa Fe for a short time before relocating to Tularosa-where she lived for the duration of her life. She retired from the Village of Tularosa in 2017 after 33 years of service, working as the longtime Village Clerk. Even after retirement, she remained professionally active, working for numerous elections. Dianna loved the Tularosa community and was committed to making it a better place through her volunteer work with Saint Francis de Paula Church, including their Parish Council, soup kitchen and annual fiesta. Additionally, she had been active with the Rotary Club of Tularosa. Survivors include her daughters Sonya (Kevin) Gililland, Monica Salas, Jessica Gaston and (former) son-in-law Santos Salas. Surviving siblings include Sylvia (Jerry) Telles, Raul "Boy" (Linda) Gonzales, Leo (Cathy) Gonzales, Ernest "Nonie" Gonzales as well as seven grandchildren: Angel Salas, Shania (Isaac) Gililland, Jordan Gaston, Colton Gililland, Ricky Gaston, Noah Salas, Gabriella Salas and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo Guilez, her father, Sylvester Gonzales, her mother Mary Gonzales and her brother Richard Gonzales. A celebration of the life of Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez will be held at St. Francis de Paula Church in Tularosa, New Mexico on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 with a 10:30 a.m. Rosary and an 11 a.m. Mass. Father Marcel will officiate. Due to the current situation, and CDC recommendations for public gatherings, there will be limited capacity in the church, masks must be worn, and social distancing protocols will be followed.

Gonzales-Brusuelas families, its difficult to express the thoughts that went through my mind when I was informed about Diana. Diana was not only a cousin but my best friend as a child. I will never forget the fun times we had when we were camping or spending the night at each others homes. I was happy that we remained in touch after such a long time of not seeing each other. I was looking forward to getting old together and sharing more wonderful times and memories. Our condolences to you all, I miss her and am praying for her and all of you. Love you all, Martha (Gonzales) & Jess Luna
