Johnny Marquez Obituary

Johnny L. Marquez Jr.

Johnny Luis Marquez Jr. (Jonboi), beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021. Johnny was born to Johnny and Mary Ellen Marquez on October 2, 1984.

Johnny was an amazing person with many great talents. He was an exceptional barber who enjoyed cutting hair. He was also a great chef who loved to share his passion of cooking with others. Some of his favorite recreations included cruising around town with his convertible top down playing his favorite tunes, making music videos, hiking with his dad, studying the bible with his mother and most importantly spending quality time with his family.

Survivors include his two sons, Iziah and Julian Marquez, his parents, sisters, Tisha Barraza (Pablo), Lisa Patterson (Wayne), his nieces, Justine (Sophia), Sheyenne (Lydien), Shantel, and Shaylynn, and his nephews, Rochard Patterson and Anthony Codilla-Patterson.

Johnny was proceeded in death by his grandparents Frank and Anita Porras and Rosaleo and Eulojia Marquez, his uncle Abram Marquez, his special uncle George Peterson, his close cousin Steve Marquez, and a few more aunts and uncles.

Johnny had strong faith in the Bible so we will see each other again. At Acts 24:15 it reads, "I have hope towards Jehovah God that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." At John 5:28-29 it reads, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

Pallbearers were Pablo Barraza, Wayne Patterson, Kyle Saxon, Alfred Maynez Jr., Sonny Boy (Gabe) Aldaz, and Rochard Patterson

Honorary Pallbearers were Iziah Marquez, Julian Marquez, Justine Saxon, Shantel Patterson, Sheyenne Barraza, Shaylynn Patterson, Abe Marquez, Dion Barraza, Jacob Gerber and Anthony Codilla-Patterson

Johnny will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him!

A graveside service was held Friday, April 16, 2021 at Monte Vista Cemetery.

My deepest condolences to the Marquez, Baraza, and Patterson family. Johnny was always respectful and had such a beautiful smile. I knew this young man since he was in elementary school and he was very smart and received many awards for academics. I didn’t see much of him as an adult but when I did he still had his beautiful smile, went out of his way to say hello and was still a respectful young man. You will be deeply missed Johnny. Fly high with the angels. God bless his family. Love you❤

Until we meet again, Rest In Paradise!
