April Barber Obituary

April Barber, 55, of Amarillo, died Friday, May 25, 2018. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Robby Barrett of First Baptist Church officiating. April was born April 11, 1963 to Johnnie and Glenda Lowrance. She graduated from Caprock High School, and attended Amarillo College. She was one the first DJ's at KARR Radio in Amarillo. She lived in Georgia for several years, before moving back to Amarillo in 2013. She married Mickey Chesser in 2015. April enjoyed gardening. She had a unique gift for sensing pain or hurt in other people, and would often stop and pray for them, even if she did not know them. April was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Lowrance; and a brother, Brian Lee Lowrance. Survivors include her husband, Mickey Chesser of Amarillo; two daughters, Danniela Wilson of Amarillo, and Jennifer Wilson of Las Vegas, NV; her mother, Glenda Everitt of Amarillo; and a brother, Allen Lowrance. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 1208 S. Tyler St. Amarillo, TX 79101.
