To Abby I just learned of your Dad’s passing and I am sorry for your loss. I too was a part of the 70’s culture in Sea Girt and summered on Philadelphia beach watching your Dad surf. He was about 16 then at the time every girl on the beach was in live with your Dad. I was going to High School with Suzanne Dunn and became very good friend with Bonnie and Linda Greischel. We spent many a day and night on the back porch of his parents home. So many wonderful memories I still treasure. My last visit I knocked on the door and Grace filled me in on the family. Allan and Bonnie attended my wedding and then I moved to Baltimore and we lost touch. I am so sorry you lost him so young to this virus. I wish him Godspeed. I suppose he’s surfing again. Live to your family.

I have known Allan since seventh grade
I remember his smiling face every morning.
More recently he was my neighbor. Wonderful neighbor and friend. His house is right behind mine. It is so sad to look out and see it dark now. He had a great sense of humor. He would help with almost anything you needed.
He will be greatly missed by many. Rest in peace dear Allan.

Dear Allan afforded me the pleasure of being his older cousin. We were together only a few times but I always held him dear to my heart. Those occasions still vividly pop up reminding me how caring and loving a guy he was, as well as, exuding handsomeness. One of those remarkable kindnesses was when he and his worker, from his plumbing store, drove from Brielle to Charleston SC in the early 1980's to deliver to me and my family a hot tub. The two of them installed it and drove back the same day. This is the kind of love he gave to everyone he met, not only to his immediate family. I am deeply saddened he had to fly off to heaven in the way he did, he never had to prove to us that he was our hero. His life was full of tragedies which he accepted boldly as a fine soldier. May he Rest In Peace. Our condolences to Abbey and her family. Robert and Pam Dickson

You see that smirky little smile on his face? Thats Allan all the way, just kind of sitting back and taking it all In. He loved all his friends, like they were his family. No one was a stranger for long. He had a very warm , generous and engaging way about him, I was not ready to say goodbye, His family was his heart, just the mention of his grandsons, Trevor and Finn, would light up his face. I was lucky enough to be part of his life, the last years. You were a pleasure to be with and to take care of.I I will miss you very much. I promise not to cry (or sing). GOOD ONE BUDDY, GOOD ONE❤

We enjoyed Allan so much. He was one of the kindest, most gentle humans that we have known. We consider ourselves so incredibly fortunate that we had the chance to meet him and experience the generosity of his soul.
God Bless you, Alan. You will be sorely missed.

I first met Allan when we both attended Manasquan Grammar School. Even then, at such a young age, he was a larger than life character who immersed himself in the joy of being alive.
We went on the become very close, lifelong friends. We came of age together in the 60's along with our very close knit group of amazing friends. Those were very special times that have left me with an encyclopedia's worth of cherished memories, many of which, Allan was the initiator of. For those who understand, I'll never forget the vice grips on the tone arm.
I consider myself blessed for all the wonderful adventures (Woodstock, etc.) and very zany antics we shared together.
I miss Allan terribly. My friends and I have lost a very important family member. and it hurts like hell.
Thanks for everything, Allan and godspeed.
