Harry Pozycki Obituary

Harry Pozycki, Sr.

AGE: 90 • Perth Amboy

Harry Pozycki, Sr. passed away on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, three months after his 90th birthday. Born in East Chicago, Indiana, he moved first to Trenton, New Jersey and then to Perth Amboy where he married and started a family. Harry was a fighter and a family man. As a fighter, he volunteered for one of the first ever classes of paratroopers because, as he said…"It was the fastest way to kill Hitler." He served with the 504 Parachute Infantry Division in North Africa and in Sicily on the Anzio beachhead. His fighting spirit carried on throughout his life and remains an inspiration to his family and friends.

As a family man, Harry provided the example of a loyal spouse and a caring father who gave his children the foundations needed for success in their lives. His wife and best friend Mary predeceased him, and he leaves three loving children: Maryann Keating of Madison, Connecticut; Steve Pozycki of Peapack, NJ and Harry Pozycki, Jr. of Perth Amboy, NJ, whom, together with their spouses and all of his grandchildren, cherish their memories of his many adventures, including his successful exploration for gold in the mountains of Sierra Leone and his rise from laborer to developer of golf courses and an environmentally planned residential community in Manalapan, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Partnership for a Drug Free New Jersey.
