WILLIAM UGI
AGE: 89 CARLISLE, PA
William Ugi, 89, of Carlisle and formerly of Chambersburg, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Thornwald Home in Carlisle. He was born May 3, 1920, in Carteret, NJ, and was a son of the late Charles and Matilda (Toth) Ugi. Bill was married to the late Mary (Mich) Ugi, who died Sept. 22, 2003. Bill was a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII, and retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot after 11 years of service as a tank mechanic. Prior to his move to Chambersburg, Bill had been employed at the Raritan Arsenal in Raritan, NJ. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan M. and her husband, Michael Witter of Waynesboro; one brother, Stephen Ugi of Waverly, NY; one grandson, Erin T. Witter of Arvada, CO; one great-granddaughter, Isabel Witter and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Mary and three brothers, Charles, Joe and Gene.
Private burial will be held in the Newville Cemetery. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Thornwald Home, 442 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013. Please visit Since1853.com to send condolences.
