Anthony DeStefano Obituary
Spotswood - Anthony M. DeStefano (Tony), 88 of Spotswood passed peacefully at home on Saturday August 28th surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1932 and moved to Spotswood at a young age.
Along with his father, Patrick Sr., he established the A&P DeStefano agency on Main Street in Spotswood, in the late 1950's. The DeStefano Real Estate business, run by Tony, remained in business for close to 50 years. His vitality & passion for real estate sales continued as Tony joined "Century 21" in Monroe after he closed his Spotswood establishment in 2006.
Tony is a Korean War Veteran and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Spotswood where he was a Grand Knight. He loved life, his family, travel, and spending time with lifelong friends. On any given day you could find him either watching his beloved Yankees, Giants or sitting at a Black Jack table at a casino with a big smile on his face.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Cynthia; three children, Tony DeStefano Jr and his wife Winny of North Brunswick, June DeStefano of Spotswood, and Greg DeStefano and his wife Molly of Seaside Park. He has 6 cherished grandchildren; Cory, Jamie, Casey, Jake, Joseph, Nicolas and a great grandson, Greyson, all of whom he adores. Tony is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary DeStefano and two of his is seven siblings, Daniel DeStefano of Monroe and Dolores Pope of Spotswood. His remaining siblings are: Ann Byrne of Myerstown, PA., Roberta Dittmyre of Spotswood, Patrick DeStefano of Spotswood, Maryann Strehl of Lebanon, PA, and Patricia Sanchez of Freehold.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:15 am at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. For directions to the funeral home, please visit www.brunswickmemorialhome.com
