PETER E. NILSEN
AGE: 99 WHITING
Peter E. Nilsen, 99, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Leisure Park Skilled Nursing Center, Lakewood. Peter was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. Peter resided in North Long Branch and North Plainfield before moving to Whiting. Peter was employed as a milk delivery man for 35 years for Borden Dairy, Plainfield. He was a member of the Old Guard, Whiting.
Peter was predeceased by two wives, Claire Cahill Nilsen and Anne Wyckoff Nilsen; and two brothers, Stanley and Thor Nilsen. He is survived by his children, Robert Nilsen and his wife Irene of Tuscon, Ariz., and Linda Nilsen of Kennesaw, Ga. Peter is also survived by his stepchildren, David Wyckoff and his wife Abbie of Palm Coast, Fla., Judy Robinson and her husband James of West Long Branch, Nancy Palumbo and her husband Peter of Taylors, S.C., and Diane Heffern and her husband Robert of Corbin, KY; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Condolences and memories can be e-mailed to www.orenderfamilyhome.com.
