Severiano Serrano, Jr.

AGE: 74 • Woodbridge

Severiano Serrano Jr., formerly of Woodbridge, affectionately known by family & friends as Sam, passed away on September 30, 2017 at Lake Pointe Health Center, Lorain, Ohio at the age of 74.

Sam was born on October 6, 1942, in Puerto Rico. He lived in Woodbridge for 30 years, moved to Florida and then Elyria, Ohio.

Sam was a cook at the Reo Diner, Woodbridge prior to owning Sam's Deli in Carteret. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Sam was fun-loving and had a great sense of humor. He was a huge sports fan and he especially loved to golf.

Sam is survived by his loving wife Luz Celia (nee Velazquez); 3 sons Samuel, Ramon and Andrew; 4 granddaughters Sara, Nicole, Audriana and Alexandra; 2 grandsons Jake and Antonio; 2 brothers Edwin and Robert of Puerto Rico; 1 sister Blanca Rodriguez of Florida and nieces and nephews.

Sam was predeceased by his sister Illuminada; his brother Joe; and his parents Nino and Guilla.

A Funeral Mass will be held on 11/24/17 at 10:45 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 420 Inman Ave. Colonia, NJ followed by interment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ at 12:30 PM.
