Sylvia Mansanalez Obituary

Sylvia D. Mansanalez, 53, was and amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away unexpectedly due to Covid-19 complications January 19, 2021, at Rideout Memorial Hospital. She was born February 10, 1967, in Porterville, CA, the daughter of John J. Munoz and Ofelia Munoz.

She has been a Yuba-Sutter resident for most of her life. After high school she went on to receive a degree in early childhood development. She found joy in working with kids and running the after-school program at Lincrest Elementary School.

Sylvia was a very loving person who left a lasting impression on everyone she met; her energy was contagious. She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her two wonderful sons, David Mansanalez (35) and Joe Mansanalez (31); sisters, Gloria Cortez, Leticia Zamarron and Rosie Burke; brothers, Dan Munoz and John Munoz; a grandson, Jesse Mansanalez; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A public viewing will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, from 4 pm – 5 pm, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, CA 95991.

A service of remembrance is scheduled for February 3, 2021, at 10 am, at St. Isidore Catholic Church immediately followed by graveside services at the Sutter Cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be required.

When she was about 5,I remember one evening we were all home with my Uncle Victor and he would take us to the orchards and tell us scary stories ! The first one that was running back home was Sylvia, She was so scared that before he was done telling it she was already running home! She got scared easily!!
