Dawn Carlson Obituary
Dawn Marie Carlson, 55, passed away February 8, 2016.
Those grateful to have shared her life include daughter, Carly (Matt) Heard of Vermillion and grandchildren, Eve and Jonas, daughter, Kayla (Ashley) Nielsen of Sioux Falls, mother, Marilyn (Harold) Russman of Sioux Falls, father, Keith (Janice) Goembel of Lennox, sister, Coleen (Dan) Letellier of Sioux Falls, brother, Kevin (Tami) Goembel of Worthing, Amy (Preston) Bonine of Beresford, best friend, Rich Carlson of Brandon, special cousin, Steve Goembel of Sioux Falls, and her nephews, niece, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.
A celebration of life service will be held 10:00am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Friday, February 12, 2016 with family present.

I have known Dawn for many years in different capacities. I first met her through my mother Eve Dooyema at CCHS. So hard to believe Dawn won't be in the office to greet me with her contagious smile and hearing stories about the latest happenings in her family. I lost my super buddy, Nancy Scheveck, on Jan 30th. Nancy hasn't been there long, but she's showing Dawn around Heaven's hot spots and they will discover new adventures together! I love and miss you both so very much! Lord, please bless your 2 new Angels and ease the sorrow their families and friends are feeling!!

Dawn was someone that I knew at work for the past 14 years. She had a remarkable personality and an infectious smile! She was easy to talk to and a joy to be around. I'm going to miss seeing her in the hallways and talking to her in the restaurant. She will be greatly missed by many people who knew her at the airport.

We met Dawn when she first started working at the airport while we owned Airport Advertising. What a joy and a ray of sunshine she was to work with. She always treated us with kindness and we enjoyed joking with her.
Our yearly Christmas gift was several tins of Danish cookies and when we'd deliver them she would say, "We've been waiting for those!"
It was a delight to hear her cheerful voice anytime I called.
What a blessing she was to so many people. It wasn't surprising to read of the loving relationships she had with her family and friends.
It was a gift to know her.
