Clarence Edwin Wood, 85, of Smyrna Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018.

Born in Atlanta Georgia in 1932 to Clarence and Velma Wood, he lived all of his life in the Atlanta area.

Ed loved family, friends, gatherings, good food , travel, and adventure. He was a life long learner and prolific reader.

Ed is survived by his best friend and wife of 62 years , Jean Wood; his sons Greg Wood, Trac Wood, Chuck Wood and his wife Angie; his grand daughter Ava Grace Wood (his precious angel); sister in law Alice Tate of Panama City Florida; as well as his loving nieces, his nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

His family requests that we take this moment to love, hug, and honor the people in our lives; to remind ourselves that today's moments become tomorrow's memories.

Dear Jean,
When you love someone, a lifetime is never long enough to be with them... I pray that you will find the joy hidden in your pain- that your memories will make you laugh as well as cry and that you will have hope through it all. I am so sorry to hear about Ed passing on. You will be in my heart and prayers in the days ahead.
Much love,
Kim (Gregory)

Dear Jean. You adored him but I knew from the way your kind eyes crinkled when you spoke of your Ed. Grief has its own way of progressing. As one whose husband died a year ago I have been moving in slow motion to the surface and I wish you peace and strength to do the same. Much love. Your friend from the past. Dana
