Ivory had such a good heart and kind soul. He was truly involved and engaged with his community. Ivory has roots in my hometown of Butler,Al. He carried those family values that were instilled in Him from his parents and gave them to the world. I remember him in grade school as being a fighter and not letting anyone tear him down. He took that passion and invested it in the city of Atlanta.

Ivory Young served as our Chief Architect for the Vine City Housing Ministry while employed at at CWI as the Georgia Dome was being built in the 1980's. His custom designed Craftsman floor plans have been built across the City of Atlanta neighborhoods. Very smart, thoughtful, talented and skilled. We often talked about NPU-L Politics and the history of Vine City and Sunset Ave. I'm honored to say that he was my friend before his political career. Man of the People. We had many conversations with George Prather, Eddie Laws, Albert Wardlaw, Tom Jones and Rev. W.L. Cottrell about house designs and houses to be built in Vine City back in the day. "No Shot Gun Houses Ivory" This is the New Westside not the old NASH Band, Mr. George Prather would always remind us.
