Family-Placed Death Notice
ROGERS, Nicholas Mass of Christian Burial for Nicholas Q. Rogers will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Pauda Catholic Church, 928 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd., SW, The Very Reverend Father Timothy Gadziala, J.C.L., pastor, Father Edward Branch and Monsignor Hugh Marren, officiating. Interment, Westview Cemetery. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to The Lyke House Catholic Center at Atlanta University Center, 809 Beckwith St., S.W., Atlanta, GA 30314. Nick leaves to cherish his memory forever his wife Kia; parents, Fred and Theresa; brother, Phillip (Lashonda), sister, Dana (fiancé Erik Newby); Great-grandfather, Roy North, Sr.; Grandfather, Roy North Jr.; Great Aunts, Fannie Hatch, Ethel Rice and Lois Hatch; Uncles, Owen (Gwen) Rogers, Jr., Jerry (Harriett) Rankin; Aunts, Erie Heath, Mary Cromarti, Sherry North. Unfortunately, I did not have the priviledge of meeting Nick. However, I
have spoken with many who did. Those who knew Nick as a child, as well as those who had more recent contact with him, all
speak so highly of his wonderful character. If it is at all possible to feel
somene's God-given spirit through others, I truly feel the spirit of your
son. You were blessed to have him in your lives. My thoughts and

Certainly this is one of the toughest things in life and while we know Nick is in a better place it is so hard for the family and friends left behind. My prayer is that you will all discover something positive in his death whether it is even greater empathy for others or greater reliance on God and Christ. I know that is easy to say and hard to do so my prayer is for strength for your entire family. I am sure many people grieve with you in this loss and pray for your solace.

I only knew Nicholas professionally because he came into my family shop to buy appliances for investment properties. He was always so kind and personable, and I will never forget his smile. My deepest sympathy for your lose. May God Bless your family.

Dear Teresa & Fred, My toughs and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I wa lucky to know Nick everyday for 4 years at St. Pius. He was a good friend of my son Andres. I love him so much and I know the pain that you have now, but you have to think Nick is an angel with his beautiful smile. He was my favor student, also his brother an sister. Nick was a wonderful, kind and lovely guy, I was so lucky to know him for 4 years at Pius when he was in my son class, he always answer anything with smile, I love him and his brother and sister. I had the privilege of knowing Nick and his brother while I was a coach at GT. Both were fine young men who represented their family and the institution well. My prayers and thoughts are with the Rogers family and friends at this time. I was very saddened to hear this tragic news.

I remember Nick as the hardworking defensive end for Georgia Tech. I remember him as the consumate player whose personality and character far outmatched his abilities in football.
