Herbert STRICKLAND Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
STRICKLAND, Herbert H. Herbert H. (Herb) Strickland, 76, of Peachtree Corners, GA, died March 13, 2013. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m., Friday, March 15th, in the Worship Center of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church in Peachtree Corners. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16th, in the Worship Center of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. Mr. Strickland was a U.S. Army veteran and Divisional Sales Manager who retired from RJR Nabisco. Mr. Strickland was very family oriented and heavily involved in the community. A longtime member of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church since 1990, he participated in many global mission trips. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Mamie Strickland, brothers, Jon A. Pirtle, Laverne Strickland, and sister, Dorothy Jean McGehee, he is survived by his wife, Ruth Strickland; daughter and son-in-law, Terri & Todd Tipton; and grandchildren, Maggie Elizabeth Tipton and Mary Grace Tipton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to: Attn: Missions Department, c/o Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, 4480 Peachtree Corners Circle, Norcross, GA 30092. Ruth, Paul and I have been out of town. Last week, we had been thinking of you and Herb on our anniversary since you gave us a ride in the snow. You are so special to our family and we were saddened to hear of Herb's passing. We will miss him, but we are thankful to know he is in God's presence and we will see him again. Ruth and Terri,
I just heard about Herb's passing and I am deeply saddened. You and your family were so special to our family while we were at Peachtree Corners. I remember Herb teaching with me in 2nd Grade SS. What a special time that was. Please know that Roger and I are praying for each one of you during this time. I am so sorry I did not know this sooner.

Flo and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Hubert's passing. He was such a friend and giver of himself to others, especially to my brother John during his time of need.
