Reverend Jonathon Barksdale officiating. Interment Dawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation Today from 9AM until 9PM. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 10:00AM at 2647 Eastwood Dr. Decatur, GA. It's been 16 years since you were taken from us. Wow...I remember the morning of July 13, 2007 like it was yesterday. You'd be FIFTY now and I wonder what you'd be like as a middle-aged (smile) man! Kiyuna is stepping out on her own and starting her college experience. It reminds me of the day that we packed you up and headed for the mountains and the University of the South. It makes me smile. Keep an eye on Omari. Love you....

I never had the blessing of knowing Karlos in Atlanta, but he was a close friend at Goldsmith Elementary in Louisville. He moved away when we went to middle school, and my friends and I always kept him in our hearts. We missed him then, and we miss him now. Do you remember when Karen and I used to call you, "Shoney's Big Boy with Pretty Eyes"? (Smile) You always told us that we were crazy, but YOU were crazier.
Karlos, you left "The Dec," came to the mountains, impacted others, came back to "The Dec," and continued blazing your own trail! We just watched in amazement.
I was always so proud of all of you who were at Sewanee. All of you gave all of us hope. And you, Karlos. You gave all of us courage. You taught us not to let anyone run over us. You taught us that our MINDS were our most powerful weapons; I tell my students the same thing. I am forever blessed for having known you, 'Los. Thank you for everything.
