It's been 16 years since you were taken from us. Wow...I remember the morning of July 13, 2007 like it was yesterday. You'd be FIFTY now and I wonder what you'd be like as a middle-aged (smile) man! Kiyuna is stepping out on her own and starting her college experience. It reminds me of the day that we packed you up and headed for the mountains and the University of the South. It makes me smile. Keep an eye on Omari. Love you....

I think of you often and have so many memories that make me smile, from White Castle hamburgers for you and your siblings...to your desire to carry a briefcase as a little boy who was selected to be part of a debate event at your school. Good memories of a "good human being." You are loved.

I never had the blessing of knowing Karlos in Atlanta, but he was a close friend at Goldsmith Elementary in Louisville. He moved away when we went to middle school, and my friends and I always kept him in our hearts. We missed him then, and we miss him now. Please know that our hearts from Louisville reach out to you in Atlanta.

What a precious gift good memories are--I smile often when I think of you as a little boy---and as a young man. With love....
