Our conversations about scripture and life.You were always willing to talk about the word of God and you were a willing servant. I was totally surprised to hear our your passing. RIP Elaine!!! We were the foursome of dedicated black women aspiring law students at JMLS.Elaine and I were the last two,alas it is only me now Elaine. We had SO many great memorable times! Not only were Elaine and I both from Indiana,she was also my very dedicated soror.
You will be SO missed. My condolences to your family. Trusting that you are in the loving arms of Jesus. Until we meet again!

I have such fond memories of Elaine Carlisle from Howard University. I recall first meeting Elaine in 1975 when she managed the desk at Bethune Hall regally and with class . By the Spring of 1976, this country girl from Louisiana found herself on the Pyramid Line of DST, and Elaine was one of my Big Sisters. My scrapbook contains pictures of Elaine with our Dean of Pledges Vanessa Baxter at their graduation; with she, my Linesisters and Actress Ruby Dee; and another photo with Sorors at one of Alpha Chapter's Playboy Cabaret.
No one could have predicted that Elaine and I would both become Judges. That was God, family, DST and HU. I am grateful that some of my Linesisters from the Phenomenal 23, and some Sorors from the Nostalgic 29 were at the services to respectfully cheer Elaine on to Glory. (Soror) Judge Elaine Carlisle was loved and respected by all who knew her.
