Bright momments and the pursuit of happiness are what we all work toward in this life here on earth. Mr. Willis Hubert seemed to have accomplished that and much more. Rest well, Sir. Massive applause and honor are appropriate for a life well lived. Take wings and fly.

With your demise the world is a little less bright.
It is no less than divine intervention our paths crossed February 2006. Although on the physical plane our lives were interwoven for just a short time, in spirit we're infinitely connected. I will forever cherish our time together...travelling with you to your birthhome in Savannah, to the Hubert House at Comeaway Plantation where your ancestors were enslaved, watching your expression from your hospital bed when Renee presented you your Tuskegee Airmen Congressional Gold Medal that as your guest (in your absence), I brought back from Wash., D.C.-- "THANK-YOU", Willis, and to God for so many wonderful memories.

I was a student under his Father, and Uncle Benjamin F. Hubert in Savannah. He and I as children played together on Ogechee Rd. in Savannah Ga. at his father's house. I offer my condolence to his family.

I will always remember how supportive my uncle, Willis Hubert, was of my family. He participated in many of the important events of my life--my marriage and the marriage of my daughter. He was always there for my son when he attended Morehouse and for my daughter, when she was a student at Spelman. He was a wonderful man who loved his family.

Willis was an active member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen and such a pleasure to know and be in the company of. He will be remembered as I had never seem him without a smile on his face and what he and others before him have contributed to our country as well as paving the way for African Americans. May God bless you and your family. We'll miss you, Willis

Willis was my mother's cousin and I will always remember this handsome, handsome man. He was a distinguished man whom anyone would be proud to know. He will be missed, both in Atlanta and the "the country" as the Hubert family property is called in Hancock County, Georgia. Rest on, my cousin. You leave a great legacy to all of us. We can only dream that we will follow in your footsteps.

Uncle Willis you gave much love to the family and the world. I will forever have fond memories of your stories of growing up deep in the country at the Hancock family log cabin, and your many stories of seeing my Grandmother Beautine's pony tails flying through the wind as you chased her through the tall, overgrown fields. It has been an honor to be a relative of yours. The world is a better place because of you. Love and best wishes always to Renee, Robin, and all of us who live on without you.
