RICE, Joyce The Homegoing Service to celebrate the life of Joyce Rice will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 2470 Bruce St., Lithonia, GA 30058, with Pastor Edward L. Randolph, Jr., officiating, and Pastor Roderick Perrymond conducting the Eulogy. Her remains will lie in state at 10:00 a.m., until the hour of service. The interment, for Lt. Col. Joyce Mae Rice, USA, Retired with full military honors, will take place at a later date (TBA) at Georgia National Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr., Canton, GA 30114. Visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. with Wake and Delta Sigma Theta Service from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA 30034. Please, visit our website to extend condolences at www.levettfuneralhome.com. I met Joyce several years ago in bible study at BSF. Over that time, I had the pleasure to share class groups with her more than once, including this year. She was confident in her relationship with the Lord and knew the Lord she served is alive and powerful and she is his daughter. Joyce loved and honored the Lord with such joy. She radiated when she spoke of the Lord and his work in her life. I will miss the inspiration she brought to our class and her beautiful smile and personality.

Joyce loved her family and spoke of them often. I pray that God will comfort her family during this time.

Joyce was a great person who lifted your spirits with her positive thoughts and inspiration for life. We met in Atlanta several years ago as Norfolk State University alumni and to my surprise found out we graduated from same high school (Central) on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. From that day forward, we had the Virginia family bond and shared her special children, family and gospel fests events. Know that GOD is with you husband, Aretha, Paul II, John, her siblings and family members. I will miss our great conversations on family, Eastern Shore of Virginia, and work - Yvonne.

My heart is heavy this morning hearing of the passing of my former co-worker. Joyce was a bundle of joy to work with and always keep a smile on her face and love in her heart! She spoke highly of her husband and her son who at the time was going in the Naval Academy. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to her husband and son!

I am sorry to hear that Joyce has passed. She was a beautiful person with such a positive disposition on things that mattered. Before retiring, Joyce and I spent many evenings chatting while waiting for the Lithonia Marta Bus. She will be missed. I am praying for Joyce's family and love ones.
