Family-Placed Death Notice
NIEC, Nate NATE NIEC Nate Niec, 27, of Alpharetta, GA, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Born 6 weeks prematurely on March 3, 1982, Nate grew to be a strapping 6'5". A very talented bass player, he toured the South East with several punk bands. Nate had recently returned from a cross country motorcycle trip starting in Sturgis, SD. Nate was preceded in death by brother in law Caleb Brogdon. Beloved by many, Nate has left behind parents, Dr. Al and Marie Niec; sisters, Dr. Larissa Niec and Alysia Brogdon and his beloved Rachel. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, October 11th from 6-8pm at Alpharetta-Southcare Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, October 12th at 10am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Nate Niec Memorial Fund at any Bank of America branch. Nate, you and I were good friends I can not believe this. I wish you was here. You gave me so much thought to life, Nate, a message to you, "the game we used to play, you are the best." OMG! Nate Was a best friend to me, I know it's been a long time since I have talk to him. But he was insperation to me and nothing else. He was a great man and I just can not believe what I read. Although I saw what not, I know He was a loyal and gifted friend and I see that life is presicious and everyday I look forward to. I know this is kinda late but i know that he is reading this. The last time i talked to Nate he was happy and he enjoyed life. Lord, why did you have to take such a great, beautiful person. There is no one who can replace him. he was the stars at night and the sun in the morning. He was yours!!!!! He was my insperation!!!!

I just found out about Nate's passing. Nate was a great guy and I have many memories of him from 5th grade through high school. I am so very sorry for his family and friends loss. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Dear Al and Marie
I am so sorry for you and the worlds loss. I don't know if you remember me but nate was like a brother to me in high school. He got me my first corporate job at honda, failed spanish nearly as many times as I did at Independence, and was a pillar of how to be cool while never taking yourself to seriously. I never would had made it out of my teens in one piece, and I owe a lot of who I am today to Nate. I just found out...I'm so sorry.

As a resident of John's Creek who was in the area during that fateful day, I am sending my heartfelt condolences to a family in mourning. From the entries I've read-it seems Mr. Niec was a wonderful friend and son. Cherish those memories and know that the community around you is thinking of you all.

Dear Niec Family,
You don't know me but I knew Nate. We went to school together and worked at Honda together and he was a sweetheart. I will never forget the day we lost him because it happened right in front of my office (I now work for State Farm)... I had no idea it was Nate at the time. I have a hard time coming into the office every day now. I will think of him every single day. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Nate,
A friend and a co~worker, always a smiling face and a possitive attitude. A couple months back I went out on a motorcycle trip with Nate and some friends, we were going to Chattanooa on the cruisers and the boys wanted to take the scenic route. We started out with a 2 1/2 hr trip and we rode for 4 hrs then we stopped on the top of this mountain and Nate checked the gps to find out that we were 3 1/2 hrs away. Haha. It was getting late so we just turned around and came back home. Nate and I always made a joke about it and said that one day soon we would all make it to Chattanooga. Well I guess now we don't have that chance but at least we have the memories from our attempted trip. The night I was told about Nate's accident I shed tears in his memory and the thoughts of our trip played back in my mind. I will miss you Nate, you are the smiling face I looked forward to seeing every night I went into work. May you rest in peace and may God bless your family. With Love, Leana aka Jersey

I worked with Nate at Honda. I remember Nate as funny, honest, unique and smart. He touched a lot of lives and he will be sorely missed by many. My heart goes out to Nate’s family, friends and Rachel; you are in my thoughts.

Dear Niec family,
Nate was my friend. We worked together at Honda and were on the NH Circle team together. We travelled to LA and Colorado. We also took a trip to Arizona to visit dealers together. I am very sorry for your loss, I lost my 19 year old son 2 years ago and I understand what you are going through. He loved you very much.

I was lucky enough to have played music several times with Nate. He was easily the best bass player I have ever shared a stage with. The real musicians in the room were always watching Nate play. He was a pro and a great guy.

I knew Nate since we were in middle school, went to Milton with him, went to church with him, and even boy scouts. He was a great friend and was always willing to help out if he could. Its been a long time, but I still remember his clown outfit and how much joy it brought to him. This world just wont be the same without him.

My husband and I have been close friends with Nate since we all worked together at Honda several years ago. He was a guy that would do anything for anyone and never expect anything in return. We are so fortunate for all of the memories that we will forever hold on to. As we looked back through photos of our wedding, Road Atlanta, the birth of our daughter, his birthday, and many fun times spent together, it was clear that Nate almost always was smiling. His loss has hurt us to the core and we are so grateful to have had the chance to know him. We will forever hold you close to our heart and always be so thankful for the opportunity of our paths of life crossing one another. We love you and miss you dearly

Didn't know Nate all that well, but from what I did know was that he was a cool guy and I am sure that he will missed sorely.
