Family-Placed Death Notice

KIRKPATRICK, Kevin Kevin Howard Kirkpatrick, Jr., age 23, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away April 18, 2008. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 31, 1984 and grew up in Atlanta. He attended Woodward Academy and graduated from Riverwood High School in 2002. He was a senior at Kennesaw State University with a major in Business Administration. Kevin enjoyed sports, travel and especially time with friends and family. He loved everything about life. He brought joy and laughter to any room he walked into. Everyone's favorite storyteller, Kevin had the ability to bring you right into the moment with him. He had a natural ability to make everyone he met feel comfortable and a spirit that made him memorable to all who knew him. He had a love for both animals and people. Kevin lent his time to The Sunshine House in Atlanta and in his travels visited young children in need. He was courageous and fun loving and had a heart that was full of love. Kevin's joyful smile and larger than life personality are cherished by his family. He is preceded in death by his father Kevin Howard Kirkpatrick and his maternal grandfather O. Raymond Yates, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Isabel Kirkpatrick Fierer; his step-father, Richard Fierer; sister, I. Hayward Kirkpatrick; step-sister, Robin Burnett and her husband Dan; step-sister, Lauren Dooley and her husband Brett; step-brother, Christopher Fierer and his wife Lindsey; grandmother, Isabel Roper Yates; grandparents, Barbara and Hollis Kirkpatrick; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends. He will be buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia, and a memorial service in Atlanta will be held at a later date.

I had the pleasure of knowing Kevin while we were at WA together and for a short while at Georgia Southern. He was the funniest person I have ever met. Everytime we saw each other we exchanged hugs and he always put a smile on my face. I'll always love you Kevin Kirk.
