WENDAHL, Laurence K. Born: July 10, 1937 Heaven-bound: Dec. 5, 2014 Laurence "The Captain" Wendahl lost his battle to cancer on Friday December 5th, 2014. Surviving includes Catherine, his loving wife of 57 years along with his daughter Rosalind (Russell) of Atlanta Georgia, sons Thomas (Rebecca) of Bethlehem Pennsylvania and Michael (MaryChristine) of Valparaiso Indiana. Laurence was a grandfather and mentor to his Grandsons Joshua, Mathew, Andrew, Joseph, Michael and Russell. The Captain influenced all those that he met with humor, guidance, ethics and humility. He will be missed by all who benefited from his touch. The Captain was and will continue to be "The Man-The Myth-The Legend". Services will be held on December 9th, 2014 at 7:00 PM, Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 353 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta Georgia 30308. Parking is located in the lot directly behind the church with access off of Ralph McGill Boulevard. In lieu of flowers: Donations should be directed to homesteadhopefoundation.com or Homestead Hope Foundation; 10888 Crabapple Road, Roswell GA. 30075. Please express condolences at www.southcare.us.

Just learned of Larry's passing (5 yrs ago)
So sorry, he was a wonderful man and I know you had a blessed marriage. Hope you are doing ok.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. My heart is heavy at hearing of Uncle Larry's passing. Next to my dad he was one of the best men I have known.
