Offering belated condolences to Powell's family, I must add how honored I am to have been a fraternity brother who had the good fortune to weave in an out of his professional career, directly and indirectly, during the years after being together at UGA. Powell was a cut above the norm in life and a trusted friend. I am blessed to have known him.

I was very sad to learn of Powell's passing. I had the great honor and pleasure of working with him in the Reagan White House. He was always kind, generous with his accolades of other people and just a good human being. He was one of the good guys. ❤

So sad to learn that Powell Moore passed away. I first met him when we worked to together on the Nixon Inauguration Committee in 1972 at Ft. McNair. Here was a pleasure to be around and loved his job.

I was so sorry to learn (today)of Powell's passing. He was one of the first people I met in Washington when I arrived in 1985. Simply put, he was a prince of a guy, a loyal friend, a mentor to me and to many others, and was always quick with a smile and a kind word. I hadn't seen him for several months and had no idea his health was failing. In his last days, I wish I could have told him what a positive impact he made on my life and how loved he was....

I worked closely with Powell during the Nixon and Ford Administrations on various congressional relations projects, and continued to see him from time to time. I considered him a good friend and a very helpful colleague. His family and many friends can take great comfort in the knowledge that he lived a very full and productive life of public service, at the highest levels.

Powell Moore was on the front row of American history for decades. If you knew him through the University of Georgia, like I did, you had to dig to find out how important he really was. His great accomplishments never diminished his modesty. It was hard to get him to tell the fascinating stories of his life because he didn't like to sound arrogant. He was unfailingly kind to me. I'm honored I had the chance to know him. He was a great American and a Damn Good Dawg.

One of the very best introductions of my professional and personal life was meeting Powell. He was always a most generous and gracious individual. He was a mentor, counselor, colleague and wonderful friend. He was indeed a gentleman in every sense of the word. He will be missed by me and many other people who shared his company and friendship. If there ever was a true Bulldog it was Powell! My condolences to Pam and the family. May you find peace in knowing how many people Powell truly touched and inspired.

My condolences to your family at this sad time. Our Heavenly Father is a comforter for us all. When we are in distress at times like these, he "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn." May you experience his loving kindness toward your family at this difficult time. Isaiah 61:1, 2
