Family-Placed Death Notice

Esther Hall ("Bunny") Roberts, artist, curator, friend, mother and grandmother, left this world on December 28, 2004, after a brief illness, at the age of 62, in Atlanta, Georgia, where she had resided for many years. Roberts is survived by daughter, Donna Roberts, and grandson, Gabriel. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Mary Louise Hunt, and Augustus Hall, Roberts' passion for the arts led her to represent an array of renowned regional and international artists, through her ArtVue Gallery. She continually explored creative opportunities to bring the visual arts to the public, while benefiting charitable causes. Roberts curated "Across the Borders", a U.S./Canadian visual arts exhibit and cultural exchange, and worked as curator with Perrin Center for the Arts, in Roswell. She co-chaired "Art Walk" tour of galleries with the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. Under the auspices of ArtVue, Roberts coordinated "A Home for the Holidays" Art Show to benefit The Canine Community of Adopt-A-Greyhoud, and was a devoted participant in Habitat for Humanity's Annual Birdhouse Auction. Roberts was guest instructor with North Atlanta High School, and the Georgia Grass Roots Arts Program (Summerville). She also served as juror with various shows, including Barnsley Gardens "Arts in the Gardens". Roberts most recently studied with the Art Institute in San Miguel D'Allende, Mexico. While Roberts' charismatic energy was primarily channelled into promoting others' talents, her own creations were marked by enviable skill celebrating vibrant color on canvas, fabric, and whimsical birdhouses. Her favorite subject of late was grandson Gabriel. Previously Roberts worked with Harry Norman Realtors, and The Atlanta Falcons Football Club. A memorial reception, "Esther Roberts Retrospective", will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005, 5:00 p.m. at the Woodruff Arts Center, Center Space, 1280 Peachtree St. N.E., in Atlanta (404)733-5222).
