Alva Faulkner Obituary
Augusta, GA—Dr. Alva Humphrey Faulkner, 98, beloved wife of the late Dr. John A. Faulkner, entered into rest on January 18, 2021.
A private family service will be held at this time and a celebration of Dr. Faulkner's life will be held at a later date.
Dr. Faulkner grew up in Waynesboro, GA and was the Valedictorian of her 1939 graduating class of Waynesboro High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Georgia and was a 1945 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the school's honor organization her senior year. Dr. Faulkner was a Charter Member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She loved to travel and was particularly fond of going on cruises.
Dr. Faulkner practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in Augusta from 1951-2007. She was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and she enjoyed membership in the following medical organizations: Georgia Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, American Medical Association, American Surgical Association and the Southeastern Obstetrics and Gynecology Association.
Dr. Faulkner is survived by her children, Alice Faulkner of Washington, DC, John Michael Faulkner of Augusta and Robert Mark Faulkner of Augusta; her grandchildren, Alva Catherine Mather (Benjamin) and Andrew McClure Hayslip; and her great-grandchildren, Alice, Owen and Victoria.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3131 Walton Way, Augusta, GA, 30909 or to Brandon Wilde, 4275 Owens Road, Evans, GA, 30809.

What a wonderful lady and person. I have so many memories of visits in the house on Wellesley across the street from my family's house, visits in the house on Walton Way and the many dinners with her, my mom, Glynn and the other wonderful people at Brandon Wilde. She will be missed. JIM ELLISON

Dr. Faulkner was a favorite of my mother, one of her trusting and grateful patients. She gave dedicated help and service for years and years and my sister, Kim, and I are proof of her expertise. We thank God for Dr. Faulkner, for her life and dedication to her profession, her family and to God Himself. With gratitude, our prayers and condolences. Alva was a wonderful person and Doctor. I guess you could say I have known her since the day I was born, her and my aunt, Fay Turner, worked together and we use to visit her at her home on Walton Way when I was a little girl. Sher will truly be missed.
