John Hardy Obituary

Retired Owner of Hardy Plumbing APPLING, Ga. - Mr. John Berry "Red" Hardy, age 86, entered into rest Monday, December 15, 2008. He was a loving husband of 62 years to Mrs. Ruth Quinn Hardy. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all. Mr. Hardy served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, he was the retired owner of Hardy Plumbing, and retired from Columbia County as a plumbing inspector. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Frances Widener and her husband David of North Augusta, SC, Doris Ordonez and her husband Ernie of Jacksonville, FL, and Margaret Kim and her husband Jae of Appling, GA; sons: John B. Hardy, Jr. and his wife Amy of Waynesboro, GA, Martin Hardy and his wife Kimberly of Augusta, GA, Jim Hardy and his wife Janine of Harlem, GA; sisters: Merle Childs and her husband Fleming of Barnsville, GA and Ollie Washington of Austin, TX; twenty two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held today, Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. J. Archie Moore officiating.
