I knew John when we both worked for Media General Broadcasting. John was in Jacksonville and I was located in Tampa. John was exceptional broadcaster and a wonderful human being, along with his charming wife Janice. Last I saw John was in Las Vegas, probably NAB convention. He and Janice were very happy and had ownership in two TV stations, one in the Northern Plains and the other in the South West. I always admired John and appreciated in integrity. He was an excetional artist and I'm honored to have a copy of his "Sitting Bull", which has been in my home for 25 years. God Bless John Radeck.

No one will remember, but before Mr. Radeck was B'wana John, he was Sheriff John. I was his pickin and grinning deputy for some time. He also allowed me to play at the birthday parties, which aired Saturday mornings. I remember finishing up the cake from Smoak's bakery.I was around 14 at the time and WJBF was located in North Augusta in an old house. Mr. Radeck is truly my most unforgettable character and I will always remember him fondly. I now have a very ill wife and a severely handicapped son at home. The old memories come easily to me and make a tragic situation more survivable for me. God Bless You Sheriff John,

my sincere condolences to the family. many memories of time spent with Mr. Radeck. one of my favorites was Tuesday, April 8th, 1975. this was Masters week and i was invited to the Radeck's house for a special private dinner party. special because the guests were Jackie Gleason and Willie Mosconi, who were old friends and taught Paul Newman how to play pool to film the movie "The Hustler". what made the night even more special was that this Tuesday was not only Master's week but also the Academy Awards. the winner for Best Actor was Gleason's best friend and "Honeymooners" co star Art Carney! it was unbelievable to be able to witness Jack Gleason's congratulatory call to Art Carney. sure would have been nice to capture that moment in time with an Iphone! thanks for all the memories! may God be with you.
