Benecke, Elizabeth (Beth)
Beth was born August 20, 1935 in Hutchinson county, South Dakota to Fred Marquardt and Minnie Ehde. Married to Jerry (Gerald James Benecke) on June 11, 1953. To this union David, Loren (Laura), Gerald (Cherie), Nadine Thompson (Scott) and Mike C. (Julie), Grandchildren (15), Great-Grandchildren (35), Great-Great Grandchildren (5), and many Nieces, Nephews, and relatives. Survived by Rose, a sister and Charles, a brother. Preceded in death by Parents, sister Betty and grandson David Owens. Beth and Jerry were founding members of the Rose of Sharon Church in Cottage Grove, Minnesota while Beth was raising 4 children. Various part time positions led to her career at Revlon then retiring in 1997 in Phoenix, Arizona. Beth was a wonderful Wife, Mother, and Grandmother and special Sister to Rose. Beth was a hard working and driven person with a loving and generous heart and touched the hearts of many. She loved vacationing with her family, traveling the US and Canada, and summers at the Lakes of Minnesota. Later Beth and Jerry traveled the world with family and the Friendship Force and welcomed families from abroad in their homes as well. Additionally she enjoyed garage sales, their home in Prescott, and family gatherings. Memorial services are October 13 at 2:30 PM at Apostles Lutheran Church, 7020 W. Cactus Rd, Peoria. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any donations be sent to "Hope for Orphans and Needy Children" (HONC) at www.lugandaministry.org; a favorite charity doing ministry and other important work in Uganda.

Aunt Beth, I hope you rest in peace and I know you find even greater peace being with Uncle Jerry.
It's confusing to me why both my brother, Jeff and I never stayed close to our cousins, but sometimes across the miles things happen.
