Eric Chatham Obituary
A way out west there was a fella, a fella I want to tell you about, fella by the name of Eric Matthew Chatham. At least, that was the handle his lovin' parents gave him. In turn, he gave his children the names Jade, Olivia and Dylan. When Eric Matthew Chatham, of Mesa, AZ, passed away suddenly on July 6, 2017 at the age of 35, he was survived by those three pieces of his heart in addition to his parents Lois Rubino (Jerry Rubino) and Charles Chatham (Carrolle Jaques) and his siblings Stacy, Justin, Chad, and Dana. He was a rider and a philosopher, an inventor and an artist, a loving father with an infectious laugh and an unbridled passion for life. He had a zeal for technology, learning and teaching. With a flair for the unconventional and an unprecedented ability to wield emotion, he was able to tie it all together, no matter the audience, no matter the topic, no matter the time. I don't know about you, but I take comfort in that. It's good knowin' he's out there, takin' her easy for all us. Services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E Main St., Mesa, AZ with the viewing at 2:00 pm and the service at 3:00 pm. Interment to immediately follow. Memorial or Floral contributions are welcome.

On Dec. 30 (my birthday) my father took me to dinner. We went to Ruby Tuesdays. It was my very first time going there. We grabbed plates and went to the salad bar. Grabbing a couple of small things, we made art on our pates. We pretended they were robots or sailboats. I got ice cream after that. I remember the smile on his face most. He always knew how to make you smile even in the worst of times.

To the Chatham Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
