Bennie Lee McGowan

Mesa - Bennie Lee McGowan, 87, of Mesa, AZ . Today we celebrate her wonderful life. She left us Nov 21, 2018 and is now with her beloved husband, Bill McGowan.

Mom was an actress, discovering theatre at Tulsa Central High. She went on to graduate from the University of Texas Majoring in theatre before moving to New York. There she fell in love with her first husband, George Gilbreath. They settled in So CA and raised their children.

When her marriage ended in 1977, she moved back to Tulsa, OK where she met Bill. They were in shows across the states & England until his death in 2017. She also acted in TV and movies throughout her life

In 1992, they moved to Boise, ID. It was a great time for all of us, and we never missed any of the shows they were in. In 2003 they moved to Phoenix and .

Mom is survived by her children, Katy Crown (Brad), Downey Gilbreath (Kathleen) and Bryan Gilbreath (Lily), her Grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson (Mark) and Cameron Michael Eugene Crown, and her great Granddaughter, Megan Johnson

We are celebrating her life Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm at the Summit of Sunland Springs She is being cremated and her ashes will be taken to the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix AZ to be buried. More of her story and celebration details can be found at azlegacyfuneralhome.com

What a wonderful long life your loved one had, Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years. May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.
