Gregory Gallardo Obituary
age 36, passed away March 1, 2014 in Sierra Blanca, Texas. Greg attended St. Francis Grade School, St Mary's High School as well as Central High School. He played varsity football and basketball for both schools becoming a 3 year Letterman. Greg also played football for 2 years for Phoenix College. Greg was employed with his Father in the moving industry working with National Van Lines. He is survived by is son Vondon, age 5, fiancee Rachael Luce, sister Yvette Gallardo, niece Courtney Gallardo and parents Marvella Gallardo and Gary Gallardo. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Monday March 10th at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd, Phoenix AZ. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 11th, 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 4715 N. Central Ave. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

Wow, I just heard and was a Team mate of Greg at Central High School Back in 1995. I hurts my heart to hear this news. Me and a few other teammates were just talking on Facebook about his 45 year old field goal..It was spectacular and will never be forgotten. R.I.P Greg.

Sending my sincerest condolences to your family, Greg. I just learned of your passing and I am praying for your loved ones. We met at Phoenix Community College so many years back. You were one of my very first friends I made after I moved to Arizona for school. Your love and intensity for life, your deep passion and emotion to help others, and your always sincere advice is what I'll always remember about you. You cross my mind often my friend. I always wonder how you are, if you are ok, and I always hope that you are still standing strong in your walk with God.
You were there for me when nobody else was during one of the darkest points in my life. Your letters would always renew my faith and inspire me to keep trying! Though so many years have passed since our paths went in different directions, the pain in my heart is not lessened because of it. I will forever remember your contagious laughter and beautiful smile. And I want you to know that I will mourn you til I join you. Put in a good word for me to the man upsatirs! :)

My condolences to the entire Gallardo family. As many have stated, Greg was a talented, gifted athlete but an even better friend to all he met. So it was for me. I first met Greg when he was playing basketball for St Francis at the Martin Luther King Junior High Basketball Tournament held at Central High School. It was there that I saw Greg's talented basketball skills on both ends of the court, AND learned what a great person he was. He was polite, friendly and mature beyond his years. I was saddened to read of his death . He and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Greg was and always will be a true friend of mine who I respect with deep sincerity. It was in his very nature to defend those he loved and also those incapable of defending themselves, even if that meant sacrificing his own well-being. Many knew him for his sensational athletic abilities but, it was his tremendous heart, strong character and genuine loyalty to his family and friends that I will always remember.

All thru out your life I watched you play sports . There wasnt anything you couldnt do your skils your smooth moves your glide thru the air all amazing to watch. If it was ever a close game you would take over and single handed take us to victory .But that what heros do and you were among the best of the best at it. Above all things it was your personality no one was too little or to big or to much of a nerd or too athletic to be in your circle. You took time for all types of people and I wanted to say it did not go unnoticed for those who got to see you. We lost a good person a great competitor and a true warrior.You are in heaven now on the greatest playing field of all and the competition is saying ohh no. GALLARDO JUST SHOWED UP,!!!!!!

This is heartbreaking. I was good friends with Greg in grade school and high school. From the moment he began attending St. Francis, we became friends and I can honestly say that I saw him as a wonderful guy and a loyal friend. His athletic abilities were sublime, but his relationships that he had with his friends were even better. Even though we hadn't really kept in touch over the years, I treasured my relationship with him. From playing club soccer against each other to playing hoops and football with each other, Greg was a true friend. I hope Greg finds peace as God takes him under his wing. Gonna miss you bud!
