James Allison Obituary

Allison, James Clinton
James Clinton Allison, born June 9, 1923, passed away peacefully from this life to the next, with his wife Margaret (Peg) at his side, on December 8, 2011. James, known to all as Jim, was born in Kremlin, Montana, one of 4 children. He is survived by his brother Earl (Dick), his devoted wife and friend of 60 years, Margaret, five children: Lonnie, Rande, Sandy, Gary and Rick, 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son Steve. Jim and Peg have lived in Mesa, AZ for the last 30 years. Jim served in WWII as both a rifle specialist in the Army, and a sergeant in the US Air Force, where he was a B-24 bombardier over Germany. He had a career in the vending and coin operated business, eventually owning his own company in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jim had the ability to "fix almost anything", and used this capacity to serve others, especially family and neighbors all his life. He was also a creative artist, both as a painter and musician. His organ playing, especially swing music, not only blessed him but many hundreds of others, whether he was playing for parties in community centers in Mesa, at their second home in Show Low, or just for himself on the patio. His music made people smile and want to dance, especially at Christmas, Jim's favorite time of year. He had a quick wit and sense of humor. Often when friends or families were around, his spontaneous comments made everyone laugh. His devotion and giving spirit to his family was great, up to the last month of his life. Every time one of his children concluded a telephone call with "dad", he would ask if they needed anything- and he meant anything. But above all, he cherished his wife. Their love provided a wonderful life for them and a precious example to family and friends. Jim Allison will be greatly missed, but with him we share a hope of reunion in the next world where there is no mourning, crying or pain. A memorial service for Jim Allison will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday December 14. Location is the Community Center at Brentwood Southern, 8103 E. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ 85203.
