Margaret Hoffman Obituary



Margaret H. Hoffman, 86, of Eldersburg, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.

Born Jan. 28, 1927, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Irene Mitscherling Myers. She was the wife of Charles O. Hoffman, who died in 1997.

She enjoyed gardening, floral arrangements, and ornithology. She was a prolific amateur artist, preferring watercolors and acrylics as her media. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eldersburg, where she enjoyed participating in the social events of the church as well as a weekly Bible study for women of the church. She was active in the affairs of the Carroll County Senior Center, where she helped organize outings and trips, and where she enjoyed playing cards weekly with the Carroll Seniors Card Club.

Surviving are sons Charles J. Hoffman and wife Sheryl L., of Eldersburg, and Kenneth A. Hoffman, of Seabrook, N.H.; daughters Cheri D. Ebaugh and husband Larry, of Westminster, and Karen J. Tittsworth and husband Kenny, of Eldersburg; grandchildren Aaron and Rebecca Ford, of Austin, Texas, Melody Rider, of Hanover, Pa., James and Kristen Rudolph, of The Colony, Texas, Luke Ebaugh, of Owings Mills, Severn Tittsworth, of Eldersburg, Adam Jeffery, of Burleson, Texas, Samuel Jeffery, of Burleson, Texas, and Elisha Tittsworth, of Eldersburg; and great-grandchildren Gianna Rudolph, of The Colony, and James Ford, of Austin.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, 1700 St. Andrew's Way, Eldersburg. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157; or to the charity of your choice.
