I loved Earl and was truly shaken to learn that he is gone. I loved him and regret I didn't have more time with him. Godspeed to MaryLou, the girls and their spouses, and the grand kids. As you know, earl was one in a million-at least. We are all fortunate that he was in our lives. Earl was a true example of how to live.

Just sitting here thinking about you pappy, We miss you sooo much, it is killing CN to not be able to talk to you everyday. I have noticed he has changed alot through since you have left this world, and it is for the better. He is the most gentle person I now, he makes sure he tells me he loves me at least 2 to 3 times a day like you said to him. He spends alot more time with us.
You never know how much you care about someone utill they aren't there anymore to talk to, to see 2 or 3 times a year. I miss you greatly Pappy Earl.
The kids talk of you often. As a matter of fact we were on the way to school the other day and Deryck was looking at the sky and he said "Mommy if I could see Heaven, I bet I could see Pappy Earl playing with Trouble and Pansy pooch in a big field were all Marcy's houses are. I bet they are having so much fun. You think Mommy?" I said "yes Deryck, he probably is have a good ol time in Heaven". He said "I wish I could see him again". I said "One day Deryck you will see pappy again". He said " I hope thats real soon mommy". I lost it, didn't know what else to say to a five year old and a seven year old that don't really understand but knows you are in a better place. I can't wait to see you again in Heaven and give you a big hug!! Love you!! Miss you!!!

Your Granddaughter

November 9, 2010

Dear My Beloved Pap,

I'm sitting chair right now I'm sure you would love have had steak with us tonight. I'd have made a salad with extra cucumbers with salt on them for you. I would do anything to make you one more ham sandwich with mayo and lettuce. I would love to kiss and hug you good night one more time. I miss your sweet smile and sweet way of caring about me. You were one of a kind, I tell everyone that. I don't say that because you were my grandfather or because you were my family but you were the best man alive! You cared so very much about me, Grandma, Marcy, mom, Laura, Pips, Buck, Mark, Jeff, Panzy, Jazmine, Aunt Linda, everyone. Everyone loved you so very much. We didn't tell you nearly as much as we should have. You used to always tell me how much you loved me. You told me I wouldn't understand what you meant til you were gone and you were right as you always were. You were always right ut I never gave you the satisfaction of telling you that you were right but you were. I miss you so much I can't even tell you. You have no clue how much I love you and miss you. I am so very sad, it's selfish of me but I can't help it. I know you are happy now that you aren't worrying or in pain and I have to accept that you are no longer here but I can't. I want this to be a dream, A NIGHTMARE. When the cop came to the house I just lost it. I screamed no no no don't tell me! but I knew. I knew you were gone. Your ashes are in a beautiful blue urn with doves. It's sitting on the wooden bench at the end of your bed. Grandma picked out the most beautiful urn, she did such a good job. You would be so proud of her. She is doing as good as she can. She misses you so so much. We all do. Marcy is so sad. I have never seen her like this. Mom too. We are all sos heart broken. We love you, please please always know that. I won't ever forget you, you mean everything to me. I miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lord if you are listening, you took a wonderful, caring, giving man. All we ask is that he find happiness and peace in your arms. He is so loved and missed by his loving family and friends. Earl, you may be in the Lords hands now, but you will always be alive in your family and friends heart, we love you and you will never be forgotten.
What a beautiful difference one single life made!!
I think heaven needed a "hero" and they now have one who is watching over and taking care of his loving family, as he always has.
I love you Earl...please say hi to Mom & Dad and tell them I love them too!

Earl and I were best friends from the day I was born. When we were growing, you didn't see one without the other. Earl was a getter and a giver, he wanted it he would work to get and if you needed it, it was yours. I will miss him.

Earl was like the shepherd of our flock riding our Harleys... no matter what his friends needed, even if it was just his soft spoken words of wisdom that he would offer with that smile, he was a man of truth and every word spoken was directly from his heart...he was a sincere friend to all who walked his path...our lives will never be the same again, without him..."to live in the hearts that we leave behind is not to die"...Donna & Joe DiMartino
