Edward Pinder Obituary

Edward Thomas Pinder, age 57, of Parkville, Md., died June 7, 2018. Born August 3, 1960, Ed graduated Catonsville High School and St. Mary's College of Maryland where also met his future wife Allison. After receiving his JD degree from University of Baltimore Law School, Ed was a trial attorney for over 32 years. He opened his own practice, Pinder Legal Team, in Parkville in 2002. Ed was very involved in the Girls Softball program of the Parkville Parks and Recreational Council. "Mr. Ed" coached and mentored countless young women on the value of self-confidence, teamwork, and compassion. In tribute to his lifelong service, he was honored by having a softball field at Belmont Park dedicated to him. Ed was an amazing source of baseball statistics, and a llifelong Orioles and Ravens fan. Ed also enjoyed fishing in the Cacapon River. Ed was a 7 year cancer survivor, which can be attributed to his "Strong Like Bull" attitude and the love of his family and friends. He is especially indebted to Dr. Nancy Kemeny and staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY and Dr. Pallavi Kumar and nurses at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, Md. He was determined to see his children finish school and to enjoy the wedding of his son Jack in March 2018. Ed is survived by his wife of 33 years, Allison Jones Pinder, at home; a son, Jack Thomas Pinder of Baltimore, Md, a daughter, Kathyrn Ellen Pinder of Frederick, Md, mother Ellen Mae Pinder, Berkeley Springs, W.Va, and a brother, Michael James Pinder of Blacksburg, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward James Pinder, Great Cacapon, W.Va, . Per the family's wishes, there will be no memorial service and interment will be private. Those wishing to commemorate his life may donate to the Ed Pinder Softball Scholarship Fund. To do so, please make checks payable to Parkville Recreation Council, denote"Pinder Softball Scholarship" and send to: Parkville Recreation Council 8601 Harford Road Parkville, MD 21234

Reading the guest book made me both cry and laugh. Tears because such a great man has gone too soon and laughter thinking about his hilarious sense of humor. His love of children unmatched by many with so many of his years dedicated to teaching softball along with values, teamwork and responsible behavior. Ed was my daughter Chelsea's softball coach and his daughter Kate her best friend. Some of my fondest memories are of watching him coach and the kids play and sing cheers in the stands. My heart goes out to his family and friends and all of those who knew him and appreciated his fun loving ways.

Wanda, Dr. Kumar, and all the AOC team, we want to thank you, we want to thank you, not only for the love you gave to Ed, but for the 5-6 extra years of life which your work enabled him to share with us. May your work continue to work the twin miracles of love and science for the many families who seek your care.

It was an honor for our AOC Team to serve this special man & to call him our Friend.
Through the years, Mr. Ed held a fantastic fundraiser for the We Care Fund, treated us to many zany themed lunches, let's us laugh with & at him, as he would sometimes arrive for care in a costume!
What a humble, kind, caring, sharing fellow.
