Dorothy Burns Obituary

Dorothy H. Burns, age 100, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away on February 16, 2021 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in Bel Air, Maryland, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (nee Durham) Hopkins and wife of the late John Lacy Burns, Sr. Dorothy graduated from Bel Air High School and Strayers Business School before going on to work in administration at Edgewood Arsenal for 38 years. She loved playing golf, enjoyed traveling, fishing and visiting art museums. She was a member Bel Air United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Jack Burns and wife, Gale; daughter, Barbara Scott Noble; grandchildren, Jean Noble, Marion Noble, Martin Burns and Charles Burns; great grandchildren, Paige, Ashley, Jaggar, Alexia and Yann; and great great granddaughter Maddilynn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Hopkins Jr., George Hopkins and Frank Hopkins and grandchild, Edward Lee Burns.

No services will be held at this time, but a memorial service will be held at a later date.
