I have many fond memories of Uncle Jr, in each one, he had a tall can, positive attitude, and a smile. He would come by the house, search the fridge and start cooking. I learned how to make a couple things watching him. He loved to fish and was good at it. Unc had at times, a unique since of style but was always the coolest brother in the room. Unc had a lot of love and is loved by many. He may not be with us now but his legacy will live on. Rest in peace Uncle Junior.

Able Hudson, Jr. was born on November 15, 1948, in Malvern, Arkansas, to the late Able and Pauline Hudson. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Fondly known as “Jr.,” Able graduated from A.A. Wilson High School in 1966. He went on to attend Arkansas AM&N College in Pine Bluff, where he completed his degree before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. After his military service, Able began his career at AP&L, where he worked diligently for 25 years before retiring.
In 1971, Able met the love of his life, Elaine, at a dance at A.A. Wilson. Upon seeing her, he confidently told his friends, “That little skinny girl is going to be my wife.” True to his word, Able and Elaine married just three months later, beginning a beautiful union that was blessed with six children: Larry Nicholas Hudson, Rodney Xavier Hudson (Denise), Vulnavia Lynette Hudson, Tynisha Denise Hudson Butler (William), Ava Marie Kristie Cassandra Hudson (Eric), and their late daughter, Teela Lynn Hudson.
Able was preceded in death by his loving parents, Able and Pauline Hudson; brothers Abel Hudson, Larry Hudson, Kenneth Hudson (Ricky), Paul Biggs, Pholondo Hudson (Plug), and Eugene Young; aunts Marion Welch and Ruth Johnson; uncles Nathaniel Barnett (Pookie) and Buster Barnett (BB); and his beloved daughter, Teela Lynn Hudson (affectionately known as Fat, Cakes, or Eyes).
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Elaine Hudson; his children, Larry Nicholas Hudson, Rodney Xavier Hudson (Denise), Vulnavia Lynette Hudson, Tynisha Hudson Butler (William), and Ava Marie Kristie Cassandra Hudson (Eric); his sisters Maude Pierce and Marva Jasper; 20 grandchildren: Darien Baker, Austen Baker, Shakorian Baker (Jesse), Johnavan Baker (Yolanza), Tiayla Butler, Warren Butler, Porsha Nevels, Paige Nevels, Kennie Singleton, Keyonna Singleton, Kenya Singleton, Jantel Hudson, Spencer Hudson, India Hudson, Nickiyah Hudson, Hannah Skinner, Peyton Hudson, Savannah Fore, Kylie Hudson, and Morgan Hudson; 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law: Joann Smith (Larry), Rosemary Charles (Will), and Linda Biggs (Paul). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at Brandon’s Mortuary in Malvern, Arkansas. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Please feel free to share your condolences and memories by signing his online guest book below.
