Ada Irma Perez Ortiz

Ada I. Pérez Ortiz, 66 of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon, Ohio.

She was born on August 24, 1959, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, to the late Ángel Enrique Pérez and Carmen Ortiz. Ada was raised in a loving, hardworking family alongside her siblings, where strong values of love, unity, and service were instilled from an early age.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Ángel J. Ortiz Pérez and his wife Yarodis Negron; Irmarys Ortiz Pérez and her husband Jesús Marrero; and Catherine Ortiz Pérez and her husband Neptuin Ivan Miranda.  She was a devoted grandmother to Almari Bravo Ortiz, Fabian E. Ortiz Russe, Deriel E. Russe Ortiz, Jesmari Marrero Ortiz, Ariadna Ortiz Marrero, Gianna B. Miranda, and Gabriela J. Miranda, who were a great joy in her life. She is also survived by her siblings: Nelly, Carmín, Zaida, Manuel, Ovidio, and Migdalia Pérez Ortiz, all of whom shared a close and enduring bond with her.

Ada was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ángel M. Ortiz Laureano, and her parents.

Ada was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a selfless grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for others. She was known for her joyful spirit and warm smile, always finding happiness in simple moments. She loved playing dominoes, dancing, and enjoying music—activities that reflected her lively and happy personality and brought joy to those around her.

Her heart was generous and pure, always putting her family first. Beyond her own home, she extended her love to many foster children, welcoming them with open arms, providing care, nourishment, and teaching them strong values that would guide them through life.

In her later years, Ada lived with Alzheimer’s disease. Though she may have forgotten familiar faces, her family never forgot the love she gave, the sacrifices she made, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of compassion, happiness, strength, and unconditional love will live on through all who were blessed to know her.

Her family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home,1738 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM prayer and farewell service. Pastor, Gilbert Silva of The House of Praise, Lorain will officiate.

Ada will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

Nació el 24 de agosto de 1959 en Orocovis, Puerto Rico, hija de los ya fallecidos Ángel Enrique Pérez y Carmen Ortiz. Ada creció en el seno de una familia trabajadora y amorosa, junto a sus hermanos, donde aprendió valores de unión, esfuerzo y amor por los demás.

Le precedieron en la muerte su amado esposo, Ángel M. Ortiz Laureano, y sus padres. Ada deja un legado de amor en sus hijos: Ángel J. Ortiz Pérez y su esposa Yarodis Negron, Irmarys Ortiz Pérez y su esposo, Jesús Marrero; y Catherine Ortiz Pérez y su esposo Neptuin Iván Miranda. Fue una abuela dedicada y amorosa de Almari Bravo Ortiz, Fabian E. Ortiz Russe, Deriel E. Russe Ortiz, Jesmari Marrero Ortiz, Ariadna Ortiz Marrero, Gianna B. Miranda y Gabriela J. Miranda, quienes fueron una gran alegría en su vida.

También le sobreviven sus hermanos: Nelly, Carmín, Zaida, Manuel, Ovidio y Migdalia Pérez Ortiz, con quienes compartió lazos fuertes y entrañables. Además, le sobreviven su yerno Iván N. Miranda y su nuera Yarodis Negrón, quienes formaron parte importante de la familia que tanto amó.

Ada fue una esposa amorosa, una madre entregada y una abuela ejemplar. Se distinguía por su espíritu alegre y su sonrisa cálida, siempre encontrando felicidad en los momentos sencillos. Le encantaba jugar dominó, bailar y disfrutar de la música, reflejo de su personalidad feliz y vivaz que contagiaba alegría a quienes la rodeaban.

Su corazón fue generoso y puro, siempre poniendo a su familia en primer lugar. Más allá de su hogar, dedicó parte de su vida al cuidado de niños de crianza, brindándoles amor, alimento y enseñándoles grandes valores que los acompañarían por siempre.

En sus últimos años, Ada vivió con la enfermedad de Alzheimer. Aunque pudo olvidar rostros, su familia jamás olvidará todo lo que hizo por ellos, su amor incondicional y los sacrificios que realizó. Su legado de compasión, alegría, fortaleza y amor eterno vivirá por siempre en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Los servicios de velación se llevarán a cabo el jueves, 8 de enero de 2026, de 3:00 p.m. a 6:00 p.m., en Richard  J. Reidy Funeral Home 1738 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio.Se realizará un servicio de oración y despedida a las 6:00 p.m., oficiado por el Pastor Gilbert Silva.

Ada será profundamente extrañada y recordada por siempre con amor.
