I’ve known Adam pretty much my whole life—our moms were best friends, and we grew up spending so much time together (holidays, parties, road trips, and plenty of random weekends). He was such a great guy with a big heart, and I’m really going to miss him. I like to think of him now in heaven, reunited with his dad and my parents, all of them together having a big party like the old days. Rest easy, Adam—I’ll hold onto the memories until we meet again.

Adam, I will always cherish the memories we had during high school years! Jerrod and I were always at your house, always hanging out, and always laughing! You were so positive and hilarious. See you soon, my friend!

Adam Joseph Hughey, age 42 of Clubb, Missouri, passed away on September 1, 2025 in St. Louis, Missouri. Born May 20, 1983 in Fort Worth, Texas, Adam lived loudly, laughed hard, and loved deeply.
He married the love of his life, Monica (Rogers) Hughey on May 21, 2022 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He chose the 21st because it was the day after his birthday—figuring if he could remember one, he could remember the other.
Adam is preceded in death by his father, Crayton Hughey, and all his grandparents, who are likely greeting him with a cold drink and a good story.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Hughey of Clubb; his son, Nolan Hughey, whom he adored and taught everything from cattle to sports to fixing things around the house; and his stepdaughter, Keira Deering, who gave him sass and love in equal measure. He also leaves behind his mother, Jo Ann Hughey of Greenville; sister, Lana Roberts; brother-in-law, Jake Roberts; in-laws Becky & Jerry Rogers, Jerry & Sherry Rogers, Elizabeth Rogers, and Robert & Taylor Rogers; nieces and nephews Bailey Bennett, Heidi Rogers, Daelynn Rogers, Lilah Rogers, Hailey Rogers, Huntley Rogers, and Mason Roberts; two honorary siblings, Philip and Ashley Buchman, along with his godsons, Mayson and Hunter Buchman; and many other friends and family who loved him dearly.
Adam grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and graduated from Richland High School. He left Texas for Missouri, where he could help his dad with the cattle farm while also working as a mechanic at Baldwin Ford in Poplar Bluff. He was proud to carry on the farm after his father's passing.
Adam was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, which meant six months of yelling at the TV and the other six months yelling at other sports. He loved movies—especially the ones he had already seen a hundred times. He was the kind of guy who could talk to anyone, anywhere, about anything, for hours—much to his wife's annoyance, because “Everyone loves Adam.”
He was the life of the party, the guy who always had a cold beer and a warm heart. Adam gave legendary hugs, told unforgettable stories and made everyone feel like family. The world is a little quieter, a little less funny, and a lot less bright without him.
