Not sure what to say?

Dear Jeff, I just read about this sad news in the Northwestern alumni news. I’m devastated and my heart goes out to you and your daughters. Adrienne was one of my dearest friends in college - no one made me laugh more than Adrienne. One of the last times I saw her, we went rollerblading along the lake in Milwaukee (and I broke my arm, and then proceeded to break my other arm the following week back in LA). If I could just hear her laugh one more time, I’d break both of them all over...

I just wanted to send my condolences to Adrienne’s family. I skied with her in some women’s camps and also some private lessons at Snowbird. She was one of my favorite students ever and we became friends. I just texted her a few days ago and when she didn’t reply (as she always did) I googled her name and, sadly, saw her obituary. It was a beautiful write up and I can see that I wasn’t the only one who thought she was special. She certainly accomplished a lot in her, too short, lifetime. I...

To the Widell Family, I am saddened to learn of Adrienne's passing. She had a way of elevating one's day when you saw her with her quick wit and her brilliant observations about life, art, politics, literature--What a bright light she was in this world. I will always remember what a devoted mom she was to her girls--she was so proud of her family. I'm honored to have known her, and I will miss her forever. My deepest sympathies to you all.

My condolences to the family.

I am saddened to learn that Adrienne passed away. I knew her as the loving daughter of Don and Mary Beth who were my neighbors for over 30 years. Her cheerful, positive energy was always there for them as they each took on their own health challenges. My sincere condolences go out to your family. She was a beautiful strong and courageous woman.

Dear Jeff, Sydney and Abigail,
We want to express our sympathy on behalf of all our family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this most difficult time.

Dear Jeff, Cydney, and Abbie,

Our hearts are so saddened by your loss and pain. It is so hard to believe. It is hard to even write this down. We have so many wonderful memories with Adrienne—her smile, her energy, and her passion were truly infectious. She welcomed us to the neighborhood, and every time we saw her, she greeted us with a warm smile and always shared a funny story.

She was so proud of you, girls. I only wish we could have spent even more time with her,...

The Widell family with us, Barb and Dave Driftmier in Calgary, Alberta in January 2020.

We were so saddened to hear of my cousin Adrienne’s passing. She was a wonderful person. Peter and I are so grateful that we got to know her better when we were together in Colorado for Uncle Steve’s 100th birthday. And Barb and I are thankful that your whole family came to visit us here in Calgary when you were on a skiing trip.

Adrienne was so very intelligent and at the same time kind and loving. She was a great conversationalist; it was fun spending time with her.

Dear Jeff, Sydney, and Abigail, I think it was Katharine's horse Yolka who brought our families together back in 1971 when my parents moved to Delafield. I won't tell that particular story here, but suffice it to say that Adrienne and I became friends as our parents' friendship grew. She and I spent time roaming around the countryside, exploring marshy areas near Nagawicka (possibly falling into an icy creek now and then), riding our bikes to Upper and Lower Nashotah, and just talking and...
