Agatha “Rusty” Anderson was born February 17, 1934 in Elizabeth, NJ to Frank and Aldona (nee Zubrick) Roden. She had two sisters, Diane (deceased) and Joyce. Her sister Diane gave her the nickname Rusty (no one is sure how it came about) and she went by that for many years before deciding to be called Agatha again. However she identified most as Maga - a name given to her by one of her grandsons who couldn’t say grandma. After high school she attended secretarial college and had many jobs over the years eventually retiring from PepsiCo.
Agatha met her husband Bill while working in New York. They married and eventually moved to California. They had three children William (Donna) Anderson, Stephen (Debra - deceased) Anderson and Barbara (Leo) Romero. They moved to Ohio in the 1970’s and eventually divorced. Over time, and through various circumstances, everyone ended up back in beautiful Fallbrook. Stephen later retired and moved his family to Tennessee, where they currently reside.
Agatha loved her family, knitting, bridge and reading. She enjoyed knitting prayer shawls, blankets for the homeless, hats for people undergoing chemo as well as gifts for people. She loved her church, where her pastor described her as having a true servant’s heart. Agatha was known for her kindness and loving nature. Connection was very important to her and, as a result, she enjoyed a large circle of friends.
In addition to her children Agatha had 5 grandchildren, Joshua (Britney), Matthew, Thomas, Emily, Anna and one great grandchild, Lily.
It feels like she left us too soon on December 17, 2025, but she was surrounded by her loving family to the end and is now in the arms of God enjoying paradise.
