The obituary is a wonderful life story and tribute to a great guy. So glad we knew him. God bless the family.

It was a pleasure and an honor to have met and known you. You gave me a second chance working at your business. That was an act of faith I always valued. More importantly, it was a valuable lesson I took with me, and use to this day, as I develop my own employees.

We did not know Alan but having spent time with Gretchen, it’s obvious she has a great family and father. Our deepest condolences and love to Gretchen and Rick.

Alan had a well-honed sense of humor! He would often say things that were off the wall in such a way that some thought he was serious.
When he knew I was at the door he would say with a serious look on his face “we don’t need any wood!”

I really did not know Alan that well. I just remember my sister Julia talking about him in one of her classes in high school. Sylvia you have my deepest sympathy my GOD bless you in this time of sorrow. Carlene (Hess) weirick
